Matt Simmons, author of the Standalone Sysadmin Blog is organizing a sysadmin meetup on Friday, July 30th at 7:30pm in celebration of System Administrator Appreciation Day. The combination of the time and day of the week hopefully has the benefit of letting some people get to the city via train and also dispersing the “after work” crowd at the bar before we get there. He dosen’t know how long it will last. That’s up to your significant other (who is free to come too, of course).
The idea is to get people together, meet some sysadmins, talk shop (or not!), and hang out.
The event will be an informal type get-together at a bar in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. The place is “The Gingerman“, and the address is:
11 E 36th St
New York, NY 10016
(212) 532-3740
